Information on requirements to practise
The profession of medical radiation technologist is regulated in some provinces and not in others. This means that, in the provinces where this profession is regulated, the requirements to practise are set by the provincial regulatory bodies and medical radiation technologists are required to register with a provincial governing body. Even in those provinces in which the profession is not regulated, employers generally require certified membership in the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). In order to obtain membership in this association, candidates must successfully pass CAMRT's qualifying examination.
